Kelly Clarkson, an American singer-songwriter and actress who won the American Idol competition in its first season, became America's Sweetheart. The win brought Clarkson to notoriety and led to a contract with RCA Records 19 Recordings, as well as 'S Records. Since then she has made several studio albums, including three which topped the US Billboard 200' chart while the other albums narrowly did not make it to the top. She has been one of American Idol's most successful performers. In the course of her career, she began experimenting in new styles and themes of music. She often co-wrote songs with her husband in order to express her thoughts. Because of her distinctness and ability as a performer, she was praised by the media and received a number of important prizes. She was awarded an award called the Grammy Award 3 times. Aside from her career in the field of music, she has also been featured on film and television. She is also the writer of the children's novel River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and involved with many charitable organisations.
